Is Mexican Band Camila Breaking Up?

Mexican band Camila won three Latin Grammys, a Premios Lo Nuestro award and has generally acheived a phenomenal level of success since the release of their debut studio albumTodo Cambio. So why would therock group decide to break up at the peak of their career?

We all know the scenario: One member of a popular band decides to release his own album, and soon the whole group implodes. Though Camila’s camp is denying all breakup rumors, many in the music world are speculating that frontman Mario Domm’s solo debut may mean the end for the popular Mexican rockers.

Without the talents of Mario Domm, Camila would be in some serious trouble. As one of the main vocalists and the writer of nearly all their hit ballads, his participation has been essential to the band’s success.

Now, feeling the need to branch out beyond the trio of himself, Samo and Pablo Hurtado, Mario has confirmed that he’s in the middle of finishing up his first solo release. Scheduled to come out by 2012, Domm’s new album is guaranteed to stir up plenty of interest. Not just for its songs, but for some possible heartfelt lyrics about that failed romance with Belinda.

In addition ,Rumor has it that the group’s lead singer, Mario Domm told fellow band members Samo Parra and Pablo Hurtado that he wants to explore a solo career. Domm has denied the rumors telling the press, “We were on tour and now we’re going to Europe. We have concerts scheduled in Italy, Spain and France. We have no time to think about separating.”

But a source close to Domm’s ex, singer Belinda, says the group has already scheduled a date for their separation and are waiting for their world tour to end to make the official announcement. The source claims that Domm has even started working on his first album with hopes to release it next year.

Domm continues to deny the persistent rumors, “Other artists want to be in the position that the public has put us. At the moment we are very happy with the results that we have.”

As much as we’d like to eventually see the talented singer pursue a solo career, for now we’d like to hear what else Camila has in store!

Shakira Makes Fans Loca!

photo credited to blogs.babble
We were very impressed by her own original twist on belly dancing moves and her captivating but unique tonal vitality. Isabel Mebarak Ripoll or better recognized as Shakira was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, on February 2, 1977.  Shakira  started  her musical profession at age 12 and quickly  captured fans all through Latin America when she won the 2001 Best Latin Pop Grammy for her "MTV Unplugged" album and many prestigious awards. She is a professional singer, songwriter, image model, musician, humanitarian person, dancer and she performs barefoot most of her concerts and that’s really make her unique .

This year Shakira’s Waka  Waka (This time for Africa), was selected as the official song for the exciting 2010 FIFA World Cup and it turned out to be a worldwide breaking hit. The song is full of energy, selling more than 4 million copies worldwide and becoming the biggest selling World Cup song of all time. She is also distinguished as one of the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time and 2nd most successful female Latin singer after Gloria Estefan.

On Salsa Circuit Top Ten Latin Songs, Shakiras’s  brand new single “Loca”  made it to the number 3 spot. The video for Loca was shot this summer in Barcelona, Spain where Shakira revealed it’s one of her favourite cities in the world. Her magnificent charm , candid personality  and sexiness while doing her trademark belly dancing was enough to have me dancing in no time.  I’m sure I did not girate like Shakira but it sure was a good workout!  Great song and we will see how it fares on our Weekly Top Ten.

Salsa Circuit’s weekly Top Ten Music Chart is published every Monday on our Facebook, Twitter and our www.salsacircuit.blogspot.com sites.  Check it out!
