Meet Thalía's Son, Matthew Alejandro!

Mexican singer/actress Thalía presents her baby boy to the world on the latest Hola! magazine cover. The 40-year-old superstar gave birth to Matthew Alejandro Mottola on June 25. “I have never been so crazy in love with a man,” Thalía confessed.

Thalía Back to Work In Spite of Baby Blues

He’s only three months old, but adorable baby Matthew appears wide-awake on the cover of the weekly Spanish-language magazine with his mami. He is Thalía’s second child with husband Tommy Mottola, they have a daughter, 3-year-old Sabrina Sakaë.

“I know my son was born a gladiator because his first battle against pain, distress and loss was something he lived through in my belly during the last month of my pregnancy with the death of my mother,” Thalía said of her son. The mexicana has suffered an emotional rollercoaster since her mother Yolanda Miranda died of heart disease back in May. Thalía often took to Twitter to pour out her feelings of grief: “Half of my soul has died today… I feel as if I’m dying slowly… thank you for your prayers for my warrior, for my mother,” the singer tweeted.

Thalía also spoke about her son’s special ear for music. “He loves to listen to mambo and sleeps to the music, so I play Pérez-Prado and it’s done!” she said. “I love it because he came out like my grandmother, she loved to listen to mambo every day.” Thalía, who is working on a new album, said she is happy right now and that little Matthew completes her family.

After the year she has had, we are so relieved to hear that Thalía is feeling so much better!

Is Thalía Really Being Sued For Getting Pregnant?

To answer the question at hand: yes! Not everyone was as happy about Thalía’s second pregnancy as the Mexicana starlet. A drug company is suing the singer/actress for getting pregnant. The 40-year-old, who gave birth to baby Matthew Alejandro Mottola in June, had apparently signed a contract with the Mexican drug company Genomma Lab International to promote one of their products, but then got pregnant and was unable to fulfill her obligations.

According to the company, which facilitates research and manufacturing of pharmaceutical and dermo-cosmetic products, Thalía’s baby news overshadowed all other activities the superstar was involved in. The company also alleges that the singer/actress did not follow through with the press that was promised. Now Genomma Lab wants the singer to return the money they paid her—with interest.

We're not sure how Thalía is reacting to the news, but the star has had an extremely tumultuous year since the death of her mother, Yolanda Miranda. Miranda passed away suddenly in May from heart disease and Thalía has been grieving ever since. The singer has been open about her heartbreak, often posting her feelings on social media site Twitter. We hope the news of the lawsuit doesn't bring her down any more, especially when she has a newborn baby boy to take care of.

Exclusive: Revealing details on Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's new reality show

As you may have heard, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have created their own musical reality show, called 'Q' Viva: The Chosen'. The power couple will embark in the next couple of months through an extensive 21-country search for the next new talents in music, either it's singing, playing or dancing all over Latin America. For this special mission they are joined by 'American Idol's creator, Simon Fuller, and world-renowned director and choreographer, Jamie King.

King has an impressive resumé working with the brightest, most important names in the business. He's been behind unforgettable world tours for such artists as Madonna, Britney Spears, Pink, Christina Aguilera, Shakira, Avril Lavigne, Ricky Martin and Rihanna, just to name a few. And now he's here to share with AOL Latino further details on what we can expect from 'Q' Viva':

How far are you into developing or filming 'Q' Viva'?
Right now we're really at the beginning stages, getting ready to embark in this journey, which is really in a way a discovery of Latin America and the 21 countries we're about to scout physically, ourselves, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez. Our mission is to discover new, young talent. Actually, young is the not right word, it's about all ages. But if you are in one of the countries and you have someone that you think represents best your country, we want to know about it. We will follow the people in each country to find undiscovered talent. Also, since we're in the beginning stages, you can go to Youtube.com/QViva and upload videos. We're using the Internet as well, because Latin America, as you can imagine, is such a vast region to cover and we want to make sure we don't miss anything. So if you have a friend or someone you want to nominate in terms of creativity, either a best singer, poet, street performer, we will want to see it. We will be watching all those videos ourselves as well.

Have you been watching these videos from YouTube?
Yes! Right now, Jennifer, Marc and myself have been meticulously going through them because we want to make sure that nothing is overlooked. And for us, there's no age limit. We're looking for anything that represents a particular region. But I can't wait to go to each country and search for the talent. I'm so excited and I can't wait to see more.

What interested you the most about taking this job?
I would say it would start with my love of music, dance and culture, live shows. But also, I'm friends with Jennifer and Marc and our other partner, Simon Fuller. They are all great, amazing talents themselves and have created the most successful brands in the world, and that is completely inspiring. For us, it's all about finding the talent.

What makes it different from other shows like 'American Idol'?
Unlike any other show that you have out there, unlike 'Idol' or 'America's Got Talent', we are the talent scouts. We are physically going into these countries not only to find talent but to simultaneously learn about each country and its culture, its similarities and differences with other countries. What makes them unique, what is their voice and the essence of each of the countries. There has never been a show that has really celebrated Latin America this way: the beauty, the splendor, the complexity and all the color that make up Latin America. Our intention is to show that to the rest of the world.

What is it about Latino culture that you find most appealing?
I don't know about you, but I have a background in dance and I LOVE when a good drum song comes on, with the rhythm in the music and also, the fire of the people, their sexiness. The communal kind of love that unites them is so inspiring and I want to learn more about that. I'm not Latin, I'm American, so I'm very much learning as I go in this process. I'm looking to find undiscovered talent but I'm also learning so much about the cultures myself. So the audience watching us will be learning through me, the American who doesn't speak Spanish. I'm looking forward to learning more as I go apart from the things I know and that I have learned from directing shows for Ricky Martin, Shakira, Thalía and Paulina Rubio.

How was it working with them?
For me there's no greater experience every time I have had the privilege to work with a Latin artist. And I've gotta say, I've worked with many, many artists, but each one of them, Ricky, Shakira, Paulina, Thalía, they have a particular fire, soul and energy that comes with the job that I find so inspiring. I must admit all of them have been one of the greatest experiences in my career.

Do you have any specific dates when you're coming down to each country?
Not right now, but we will embark on this journey very soon. You will definitely know when huge stars like Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez land in your city (laughs). So I'm definitely looking forward to that happening very soon.

Music mogul Tommy Mottola, Mexican songstress Thalia welcome son

Music mogul Tommy Mottola and Mexican jill-of-all-trades sensational, Thalia, welcomed a little bit of happiness this weekend with the birth of their second child, Matthew Alejandro Mottola.

Little Matthew took his first breaths on Saturday at 11:48 a.m., coming in at 7 lbs 14 oz. Through their close circle of friends, AOL learned that both baby and mommy are both in perfect health. According to our sources, Thalia's labor was a quick one in which her little one was delivered via cesarean section. Mottola, along with the couple's 4-year-old daughter, Sabrina, accompanied Thalia at the hospital.

Their son, one of four children fathered by Mottola, who is estimated to be worth around $100 million, was born in New York's Mount Sinai Hospital. Sabrina was also born at the hospital.

The birth of their son marks a happy benchmark for the 39-year-old singer, writer, actress and entrepreneur, who suffered a major blow in May with the death of her manager and mother, Yolanda Miranda, who died of a heart attack. Sources say Thalia, who has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, held a picture of her mother during the delivery.

After taking in his drink of mother's milk, Matthew, or Matteo, took his first nap, while mom rested momentarily before receiving calls from well-wishers. Thalia also took time out to tweet her followers on Twitter about her special delivery, writing: "Es un niño! It's a boy! :-) :-)."|

Mottola protege and ex-wife, Mariah Carey, recently gave birth to twins on April 30. Mottola, who is credited as the instrumental force behind Mariah Carey's early success, has two children, Sarah and Michael, from a previous marriage.

Thalia stayed in touch with fans throughout, tweeting her arrival to the hospital before delivery.

Mottola ladies, past and present, expecting little surprises

Babies abound this spring as Tommy Mottola and his wife, Mexican singer Thalia, as well as Mottola's ex, Mariah Carey, are expecting. Talk about planned parenthood! Naturally, that's not exactly how it happened, but the timing is ironic, don't you think?

The pregnancy marks the second for Mottola and Thalia, as Mariah prepares to have twins -- a boy and a girl -- with actor/comedian/rapper and hubby Nick Cannon. Mottola and Thalia recently opened the doors to their Palm Beach estate, where the public got a peek at the pair's love nest, inside the pages of Hola! Magazine.

And Thalia is quite happy to share. She makes pregnancy look positively stunning.

Radiant is likely the best way to describe her with a beautiful smile to boot. The Mexican singer donned her pretty smile and her baby bump online and on the cover of the magazine for everyone to see.

In the interview and photo shoot, just a day after her good friend, Lili Estefan, organized her baby shower; Thalia shares intimate details about her second pregnancy, such as not wanting to know the sex of the baby until he -- or she -- is born.

Looking not only gorgeous, the Mexican singer shares her reason for deciding on becoming a mommy the second time around after overcoming Lyme Disease, following a tick bite for which she was in treatment for quite some time.

"The arrival of my baby means that I'm finally healthy again. I feel dually blessed," the 39 year old told the magazine.

Thalia, Tommy Mottola Expecting Second Child

Singer and actress Thalia and husband slash music mogul Tommy Mottola are about to be parents again. Thalia is pregnant with her second child, it has emerged. Further details are not available at the moment.

The two have been married for 11 years and have a daughter born in 2007. They hardly make public appearances or grab headlines for their personal life, despite being well established celebrities.

This would also explain why, at the time of writing, there’s no confirmation or statement from the happy couple.

“Music mogul Tommy Mottola is to be a dad again. His wife, Latin superstar Thalia, is expecting their second child later this year,” the New York Post writes.

“The former Sony boss wed the actress, 39, in 2000, and their daughter, Sabrina Sakae, was born in 2007. Mottola, 61, who has two other kids, Michael and Sarah, from a previous marriage, is delighted, sources say,” the report further reads.

Just recently, Mottola was spotted out to a business lunch with Simon Cowell, who’s still busy looking for judges for the US version of X Factor, set to premiere soon.

“Mottola, who nurtured the careers of Celine Dion, Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey and Shakira, among others, is said to be in talks with Simon Cowell for a judging spot on his upcoming Fox show The X Factor. Mottola’s rep declined to comment,” the same e-zine also notes.

The music mogul has also been married for 5 years with singer Mariah Carey, whose career he launched.

The relationship did not end well, with Carey dropping hints in post-divorce interviews that he was too possessive and controlling for their relationship ever to work.

At one point, she even said she was emotionally abused (presumably by Mottola) because she was not allowed out of the house or to have friends over, leading quite an isolated, “sequestered” life.

Mottola has never publicly addressed Mariah’s allegations.
