Sexy Dresses Under $100

Belted LWD
Talk about white hot! Use one of summer's It colors to amp up your tan—just ask Cameron Diaz.
Polyester dress, Miss Selfridge, $74; missselfridge.com.

Full-Skirted Print Dress
Hello, color! Amp up your wardrobe with a bright, strapless mini. Take a tip from Blake Lively: don't compete with the vivid pattern—opt for classic stilettos and a sleek ponytail instead.
Cotton poplin dress, Delia's, $40; delias.com.

Plunging Mini
The already seductive LBD gets an extra jolt of va-va-va-voom from a modern, curve-enhancing silhouette. Cap sleeves make this design more seasonal than Zoe Saldana's version, but the deep V is year-round sexy.
Cotton dress, AllSaints Spitalfields, $95; allsaints.com.

Red Maxi Dress
Nothing sizzles like this eye-catching hue. Style trick: cinch your design with a skinny belt a la Malin Akerman—head-to-toe scarlet's hotter when you can see your curves!
Laser-cut dress, H&M, $40; hm.com for stores.

Bright Shift
You don't need to show a lot of skin to turn heads. A form-fitting dress in Scarlett Johansson's sunny yellow hue is all-day sexy. Top it off with a cardigan and flats for an afternoon get-together then toss that outer layer and add heels for a night on the town.
Polyester shift, ASOS, $83; asos.com.

Best Dressed: 2011 Met Costume Institute Gala

The biggest night in fashion didn't disappoint — Zoe Saldana was a ray of light in Calvin Klein, Jennifer Lopez was a showstopper in Gucci and Salma Hayek continued to pay homage to Alexander McQueen. The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute's "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" gala was a night of stunning fashion and beautiful stars.

Jennifer Lopez showed the other attendees how it is done when she arrived in this fuschia Gucci halter gown with a matching floral shrug and clutch.

Less is definitely more with Zoe Saldana in a beautiful yellow Calvin Klein minimalist strapless gown with a gold Platt boutique necklace.

Honorary chair of the gala Salma Hayek kept with the theme of the night in a nude one-shoulder, rosette-embellished Alexander McQueen gown.

Gisele Bundchen looked too good to be true in a red strapless Alexander McQueen gown and retro waves.
Eva Mendes stood out in an electric blue Stella McCartney one-sleeved pleated dress with a gold belt and Fred Leighton jewelry.
Penelope Cruz stuck with what works in a black Oscar de la Renta mermaid-hemmed gown with a feather clutch and Chopard jewels.

Jessica Alba took her pregnancy glow one step further with a champagned-colored Ralph Lauren strapless gown with beaded detail.

Nicole Richie was ultra-glam in a white vintage gown, custom House of Harlow 1960 jewelry and a black Christian Louboutin clutch.
Rosario Dawson made a nice entrance and an even more stunning exit with her black sequin backless column gown.

La La Vazquez glowed in a nude-colored one-shoulder Vera Wang gown.
Sofia Vergara wore her favorite designer, Carolina Herrera, yet again on the red carpet. She chose a strapless floral print gown with Harry Winston jewels.

On the arm of her husband Josh Duhamel, Fergie traded her usual rocker look for a romantic Marchesa mermaid gown with Harry Winston jewels.
Edgy Cassie brought her unique style to the red carpet with a custom Rag & Bone blue-and-black dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Christian Louboutin stilettos.

Thalia joined the short list of pregnant stars at the gala in a dark sequined one-shoulder, high-slit gown with nude peep toes and hoop earrings.

Cloris Leachman: 'Light on Her Feet' Kirstie Alley Will Win 'Dancing'

Hollywood veteran Cloris Leachman is convinced Kirstie Alley will win this season's 'Dancing With the Stars,' telling me she's been pleasantly surprised at how graceful the full-figured actress has been.

"I was surprised how light she is on her feet," Cloris told me on the red carpet at the TV Land Awards on Sunday. "She's going to go much further than I went in the competition and I think she is going to win."

That's high praise from Cloris, who famously shimmied her then 82-year-old body to seventh place in the 2008 season. Three years later, the Oscar winner hasn't stopped dancing.

She glided up and down the red carpet several times before taking the stage to accept an award with her ''Facts of Life' cast, including Charlotte Rae, Geri Jewell, Mindy Cohn and Kim Fields.

Busy Cloris is currently starring as Maw Maw in the FOX series 'Raising Hope' and admitted to me she only saw the first couple of episodes of this 'Dancing' season.

So while Cloris believes Kirstie has been graceful, she may change her tune after Monday's performance when the 'Cheers' star temporarily lost her shoe during a routine with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

"I'm not doing a sitcom," Alley told TV Squad after Monday's show. "I'm actually doing a dance show. I'm tired of having to recover. I would just like to do something right. I don't feel like I'm jinxed. I just need to get my [act] together. There's something going on. Our rehearsals are swell. We're bitchin' in rehearsals."

Shakira Wins Big at France's NJR Music Awards 2011

celebrity-event

Our very own Shakira totally mesmerized  the show at the 12th annual NRJ Music Awards this weekend in Cannes, France. She won the awards (think: French GRAMMY) for international female artist of the year and international song of the year for her World Cup hit, Waka Waka (This Time for Africa.)” It was a great outcome for the international pop star who was making her first public appearance after the break up from her  long  term boyfriend Antonio de la Rua.

Shakira is extensively loved in the country and performed twice for her fans. The first performance was the World Cup single that is known worldwide, Waka Waka. The entertainer was joined on stage with several dozen dancers as they moved about the stage as she sung. The second single she performed was Loca. A sexy number that had Shakira in the audience shaking her hips and it didn’t stop on stage either. To the delight of the fans, she gave them a show for both songs.

Meet the 10 Latinos Who Have Rocked 'American Idol' Over the Years

With Jennifer Lopez set to debut as an American Idol judge tonight (Fox, 8 p.m. EST), we thought it would be fun to look back at the show’s prominent Latino contestants—from the fabulous to the bizarre. Enjoy!

pollpigeon.
David Archuleta, 20
Season: 7, runner up
Hometown: Murray, UT

Memorable for: Cuteness mixed with real power. A vocal prodigy as a child, the Honduran American singer became one of the show’s youngest contestants, and the most adorable, ever. Who can forget his last performance, where he nailed his three songs, including—hello unexpected maturity! —Elton John’s Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me? Everyone from Simon Cowell to co-finalist David Cook thought he’d won the whole shebang. But voters went with Cook.

Where he is now: After releasing a self-titled debut album that has sold 900,000 worldwide, Archuleta has not done as well with his second, The Other Side of Down, which sold just 63,000 in the U.S. Yikes. Can he make a comeback?

smh (dot)com(dot) au
David Hernandez, 27
Season: 7, 12th place
Hometown: Glendale, AZ

Memorable for: Sexy looks and song delivery. An early favorite, the Mexican American made it to the Top 12 before being the first to go. Some, like The View’s Elizabeth Hasselbeck, smelled a conspiracy, saying that Fox may have jettisoned him because of his past as a male stripper.

Where he is now: In Los Angeles, trying to establish a singing career.
lyricsbird

Jason Castro, 23
Season: 7, fourth place
Hometown: Rockwall, TX

Memorable for: Those dreadlocks, piercing blue eyes and spacey-ness.

Where he is now: He released a self-titled debut album last spring, which despite OK reviews, sold poorly. At least the Colombian American singer has love: He recently married his high school sweetheart. They live in Dallas.
mtv (dot) com
Allison Iraheta, 18
Season: 8, fourth place
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Memorable for: A power-rock voice complemented by bright red hair. She channeled some of music’s heaviest-hitting female singers, from Aretha Franklin to Janis Joplin, and wowed every time. Her departure shocked many.

Where she is now: The Salvadoran American rocker released an album, Just Like Me, in 2009. When it underperformed, her label, Jive dropped her. She is still signed to 19 Entertainment, along with many of the top AI also-rans.
 poptower
Jorge Nunez, 23
Season: 8, 13th place
Hometown: Carolina, Puerto Rico

Memorable for: Being from Puerto Rico, and having a voice good enough to be lauded by Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, who declared they wanted to sing with him.

Where he is now: Your guess is as good as his.

youtubequestions

Andrew Garcia, 25
Season: 9, ninth place
Hometown: Moreno Valley, CA

Memorable for: Tattoos, including one of his wife’s red lips, and for peaking way too early and struggling the rest of the way.

Where he is now: Working on an album.

crushable
Diana DeGarmo, 23
Season: 3, runner up
Hometown: Snellville, GA

Memorable for: Coming in second to Fantasia Barrino by only 2% of the votes. Talk about your slim margins.

Where she is now: Broadway, baby! Well, she was, until last summer, when Hair closed. Now she’s doing musical theater in her adopted hometown of Nashville.
american idol

Jessica Sierra, 25
Season: 4, tenth place
Hometown: Tampa, FL

Memorable for: Being a hot mess post-Idol. Sierra starred in a sex tape and was arrested after a bar fight. Then she was busted for cocaine possession and went into rehab for drugs and alcohol. Her struggles were featured on Celebrity Rehab. She also had a stalker.

Where she is now: Now clean and sober, prepping her comeback album and has a two-year-old daughter.

zimbio
Syesha Mercado, 24
Season: 7, third place
Hometown: Sarasota, FL

Memorable for: That goosebump-inducing moment when the half Puerto Rican diva sang Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing. We’re still reeling.

Where she is now: She was part of the cast of Dreamgirls national tour; she also attends college at Florida International University.
American idol
R.J. Helton, 29
Season: 1, fifth place
Hometown: Pasadena, CA

Memorable for: Being the Latino to get the farthest in the inaugural season of the show, and coming out as gay in 2006, leaving a Christian music career behind.

Where he is now: Working on music.
