Get the Best Haircut for Your Face Shape!

bridalpartytees

Change is good. But when it comes to getting a new haircut there are three things you must consider: hair type, facial features and most importantly, the shape of your face. We give you the scoop on the best cuts and styles for every shape.
Round Face, Short Hair
Your Best Cut: A layered pixie.

Try a pixie cut like Morena Baccarin’s. The long, textured pieces in this sexy pixie lengthen her face while also drawing emphasis to her eyes and cheekbones.

Round Face, Medium Length
Your Best Cut: An asymmetrical cut

An uneven cut looks great on a round face like Selena Gomez’s. Hair that falls to the shoulder with textured pieces around the neckline helps slim a full face. Adding a deep side part will make your face look longer, making it appear more oval.

Round Face, Long Hair
Your Best Cut: Long, subtle layers

Long layers like Fergie’s that start below the cheekbones are a great way to frame the face. The idea is to go for layers that are going to make your hair appear fuller. The extra volume in the hair creates a face-slimming effect and adds definition.
Heart Face, Short
Your Best Cut: A slightly above-the-shoulder bob with layers sliced all around

Heart-shaped faces like Zoe Saldana’s tend to be wide at the forehead and cheekbones but narrow around the chin area. So you want to go for a bouncy cut that’s going to hit right below the jaw to help fill in the area, while avoiding a top-heavy look.
Heart Face, Medium Length
Your Best Cut: Layered with face-framing pieces

Naya Rivera’s narrow chin tends to be the focal point of her face. The layers of her cut offset her defined jaw.

Heart Face, Long Hair
Your Best Cut: Long, full layers

Jennifer Lopez has a strong chin but her long, thick mane and sweptback bangs draw all the attention to her eyes. The cut also shows off the natural dimensions of her face.

Oval Face, Short Hair
Your Best Cut: A sleek bob

Oval faces look great with just about any hair length. But a collarbone length bob like Jessica Alba’s helps break up a long face while showing off your neck.

Oval Face, Medium Length
Your Best Cut: Blunt bangs

Long, straight bangs across the brow line like Lea Michele’s breaks up the length of a very long face. Keep bangs blunt by blow-drying and passing a flatiron once or twice.

Oval Face, Long Hair
Your Best Cut: Long, side-swept bangs

Long bangs are a great way to visually shorten the distance form your forehead to your chin. But if you don’t want to fuss with blunt bangs, go for a less high-maintenance look, like long, side-swept bangs. You can even pin them to the side for a long and deep side part.

Square Face, Short Hair
Your Best Cut: A short bob with heavy slanted bangs.

A chin-length bob takes the emphasis off the jaw and on the cheekbones.

Square Face, Medium Length
Your Best Cut: Shoulder-length cut with feathery layers all around the head.

This classic cut is perfect for square faces because the airy layers soften any sharp edges.
Square Faces, Long hair
Your Best Cut: Long and Straight

Wearing your hair really straight and long helps soften square angles. Parting your hair in the middle like Penelope Cruz, helps balance out your face’s boxiness and takes the attention away from the jawline.

Shakira and Piqué snapped holding hands

On Sunday, new images surfaced of a very lovey-dovey Shakira and Gerard Piqué out for dinner, locking hands and smiling effusively.

In a matter of hours, the most sought after "it" couple appeared on the Internet, the media and even Shakira's Facebook page, where fans posted pictures that all but ruined a potential "scoop." Oops!

The online edition of El Pais reported that the images were captured outside a restaurant in Spain after a soccer match between Barcelona and the Athletic. Just outside the restaurant, six of the 15 photographers slated to snap shots of the couple together took their prized photos around 4:30 in the morning.

After word that a photograph of the pair engaged in a kiss would fetch millions, we imagine that paparazzi at the restaurant were saddened, if not a touch deflated, by the fact they couldn't cash in with the coveted "hot-handed" photos.

The images would've allegedly been nabbed exclusively by two magazines, but after a leak that the pair was at the restaurant, photos began to flood the Internet, which made obtaining the "hot-handed" jackpot a bit more difficult.

So now that the photos are out and an alleged romance appears obvious, should the pair announce their courtship publicly? First there were rumors to throw the scent of a possible love connection that went as far saying that Piqué was actually gay. Then subsequent reports say the pair is "just friends." Are they toying with the media? Anyway, have fun, kids!

Best and Worst-Dressed at the 2011 Grammy Awards!

Most Unique: Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga's show-stopping fashion always draws attention. But this time she hasn't just transformed her clothing -- she's transformed her body, too! The eccentric star (who won the Grammy for best female pop performance for "Bad Romance") pays homage to Madonna with her high, blonde ponytail and sexy leotard -- but the alien-like points jutting out of her shoulders and face are all her own. The look may not qualify as best-dressed but it's Gaga in a couture class all her own.

Best: Selena Gomez

Disney darling Selena Gomez is definitely all grown up! The actress shines in an elegant, metallic J. Mendel gown. "It's gold, and I feel like an award," she said on the red carpet. "So that's why I picked it. "

Best: Jennifer Lopez

In her eye-catching disco-ball dress, Jennifer Lopez looks like she's ready for the afterparties! The American Idol judge's Pucci mini shows off her bodacious body and her loose, sexy hair keeps the look easy and fresh.

Best: Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian loves to showcase her voluptuous curves -- so why should the Grammys be any different? The reality star draws attention to her famous assets with her gorgeous, glittering Kaufman Franco gown, and her tousled tresses complete the look.
Best: Eva Longoria

It's a black-and-white affair for newly single presenter Eva Longoria, who looks fun and flirty in a ruffled minidress. And her sleek updo, satin pumps and bold baubles add some Grammy-worthy glam to the look
.
Best: Ciara

Ciara is ready for a trip to paradise in her colorful, flowing Emilio Pucci gown. The singer admitted that it took her three hours to get ready -- but the gorgeous result was well worth it!

  Best: Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman's feminine, floral frock isn't the typical rockin' Grammys look. But the curve-hugging petal-print Jean Paul Gaultier gown adds a sophisticated touch to the evening's festivities.

Best: Lea Michele

With her low-cut neckline and cutout lace details, Glee star Lea Michele's sexy gown is worlds away from anything Rachel Berry would wear! The sweet ruffled tiers help soften up the look for the singer-actress, a nominee for best pop performance by a group or duo for the Glee cast's "Don't Stop Believin.'"

 Best: Jennifer Hudson

Grammy performer Jennifer Hudson turns heads as she shows off her amazing new figure in a navy Versace gown with a sexy corset top. The pleated skirt draws attention to her killer legs and her sky-high Christian Louboutin stilettos give an edgy, fierce dimension to the stunning look.

Worst: Ricky Martin

While most men rocked basic black suits, Ricky Martin stepped way outside the style box in a pair of skintight silver pants. The singer's top half looks handsome and chic -- but his bottom half reminds us of Kim Kardashian's silver-painted W spread!.

Worst: Nicki Minaj

Meow! Nicki Minaj, a nominee for best rap performance by a duo or group for "My Chick Bad" with Ludacris, takes the animal-print trend a little too far. The look left us speechless, but the singer had plenty to say about it to Ryan Seacrest: "It's lioness meets her cub, meets fierce-osity, meets fabulosity, meets fashionista, meets runway, meets everything, darling." Maybe if she had stuck to just one of those, the result would've been better!

  Worst: Miley Cyrus

This time, it's Miley Cyrus' fashion that can't be tamed! The metallic tiger print, the oversized wrist cuffs and the misplaced fringe all add up to a too-busy look for the presenter. Plus, the glimpses of side cleavage aren't helping the teen star's image.
 Worst: Rihanna

Rihanna leaves very little to the imagination in this daring creation! With her stripes of bare skin, the risk-taking singer (who's got several nominations -- including record of the year for "Love the Way You Lie" with Eminem) may have gone a little too sexy for the Grammys. Quick, someone shield Justin Bieber's eyes!

Worst: Snooki

She wouldn't be Snooki without a super-tight, super-short dress. But with the messy hair and over-the-top jewelry, Jersey Shore's party girl just isn't cutting it on the Grammys' red carpet..

Worst: Hayley Williams

We appreciate that Paramore singer Hayley Williams (whose band is up for best pop performance by a duo or group for "The Only Exception") has her own unique sense of style -- and we love that she's bringing a little color to the carpet. But we could have done without the clear view of her belly button!

 Worst: Katy Perry
Katy Perry always brings her wild style to the red carpet, but this look crosses the costume line. The singer (whose Teenage Dream is nominated for album of the year) rocks a sparkly bra with a plastic-wrap skirt -- and the giant angel wings add the final bizarre touch to this puzzling ensemble.

The Best and Worst of Grammy Fashion

As we gear up for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards this Sunday, February 13, we cannot help but think of the fashion from Grammys past. For whatever reason, this particular awards show seems to bring out the adventurous side of our celebs. Some of the looks have been unforgettable, and others, quite frankly, we wish we never saw.

Check out our picks for the best and worst of Grammy fashion, and tell us who you think deserves to take the crown for very best and the thumbs down for awful worst on the red carpet.

Best: Jennifer Lopez put herself on the fashion map when she wore Versace's barely-there green floral dress when accompanying date Sean 'Puff Daddy' Combs to the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2000.

Worst: When performing with husband Marc Anthony in 2005, she overwhelmed her curvy frame with an excess of pale blue fabric and silver-and-gold sparkles.

Best: When she won Best Latin Pop Album in 2001, Shakira showed off the wild style we expect from her in a gold lace and beaded Maria Vazquez gown with gold pointy-toed boots and golden curls.

Worst: While performing 'Hips Don't Lie' with Wyclef Jean at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in 2007, she went for gold again in a rather boring bandeau and skirt ensemble. Guess she wanted the focus on her hips, not her outfit.

Best: During her retro phase in 2007, Christina Aguilera was classy in her pale Emanuel Ungaro sweetheart strapless gown, nude peep toes and sculpted curls.

Worst: At the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2001, she was the opposite of classy in a pink Trish Summerville lace-up dress with blond, beaded braids and oversized gold earrings.

Best: Fergie went all out glam in 2008 with a pale yellow Calvin Klein strapless dress, gold strappy sandals, a gold clutch and a diamond necklace.

Worst: Four years earlier in 2004, she went way too revealing in a white plunging fringe dress with a silver beaded clutch and silver sandals.

Be Gorgeous and catch the Summer Hair Color of 5 Latina Stars!

Do you want to be stunning oozing with sex appeal this coming summer? Be hot and fabulous you can polish your hair in a more inexpensive way.

Here are the 5 Latinas who look so remarkable from their hair make over.
Eva Mendes is lighter than ever. Her colorist, Robert Ramos, told us that he used a shade that’s a notch lighter than Eva's usual hue when coloring her hair for the recent MTV Movie Awards, then added highlights on top of that. "The streaks are thicker at the ends of her hair to mimic how natural highlights would look," says Ramos.

Singer Demi Lovato now has sexy blonde streaks through her brown hair, creating a pretty “bronde” look we love! To copy the effect, place six to eight thin highlights throughout the top layer of your hair using L’Oreal Touch on Highlights ($11.99, walmart.com), which has an applicator that fits over your finger to help brush on color.

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker lightened her brunette strands to a rich auburn shade. Since red hues fade fast (especially in the bright sun!), opt for a demipermanent dye, like Clairol Natural Instinct ($8.99, clairol.com), which lasts for four to six weeks.

Jessica Alba added just a few subtle golden-brown highlights through her sideswept bangs. We think the change makes her skin seem extra glow-y. Follow her cue and play it safe: Only lighten hair up to two shades when you’re coloring your hair at home.

Christina Aguilera is going blonder and blonder! Her cool-tone platinum is hot—but getting the color is a job best left to the pros. Since bleaching makes your hair drier, be sure to use a deep conditioner whenever you wash your hair (try Garnier Fructis 3-Minute Undo Dryness Reversal Treatment, $6.44, amazon.com).

Meet the 10 Latinos Who Have Rocked 'American Idol' Over the Years

With Jennifer Lopez set to debut as an American Idol judge tonight (Fox, 8 p.m. EST), we thought it would be fun to look back at the show’s prominent Latino contestants—from the fabulous to the bizarre. Enjoy!

pollpigeon.
David Archuleta, 20
Season: 7, runner up
Hometown: Murray, UT

Memorable for: Cuteness mixed with real power. A vocal prodigy as a child, the Honduran American singer became one of the show’s youngest contestants, and the most adorable, ever. Who can forget his last performance, where he nailed his three songs, including—hello unexpected maturity! —Elton John’s Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me? Everyone from Simon Cowell to co-finalist David Cook thought he’d won the whole shebang. But voters went with Cook.

Where he is now: After releasing a self-titled debut album that has sold 900,000 worldwide, Archuleta has not done as well with his second, The Other Side of Down, which sold just 63,000 in the U.S. Yikes. Can he make a comeback?

smh (dot)com(dot) au
David Hernandez, 27
Season: 7, 12th place
Hometown: Glendale, AZ

Memorable for: Sexy looks and song delivery. An early favorite, the Mexican American made it to the Top 12 before being the first to go. Some, like The View’s Elizabeth Hasselbeck, smelled a conspiracy, saying that Fox may have jettisoned him because of his past as a male stripper.

Where he is now: In Los Angeles, trying to establish a singing career.
lyricsbird

Jason Castro, 23
Season: 7, fourth place
Hometown: Rockwall, TX

Memorable for: Those dreadlocks, piercing blue eyes and spacey-ness.

Where he is now: He released a self-titled debut album last spring, which despite OK reviews, sold poorly. At least the Colombian American singer has love: He recently married his high school sweetheart. They live in Dallas.
mtv (dot) com
Allison Iraheta, 18
Season: 8, fourth place
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Memorable for: A power-rock voice complemented by bright red hair. She channeled some of music’s heaviest-hitting female singers, from Aretha Franklin to Janis Joplin, and wowed every time. Her departure shocked many.

Where she is now: The Salvadoran American rocker released an album, Just Like Me, in 2009. When it underperformed, her label, Jive dropped her. She is still signed to 19 Entertainment, along with many of the top AI also-rans.
 poptower
Jorge Nunez, 23
Season: 8, 13th place
Hometown: Carolina, Puerto Rico

Memorable for: Being from Puerto Rico, and having a voice good enough to be lauded by Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, who declared they wanted to sing with him.

Where he is now: Your guess is as good as his.

youtubequestions

Andrew Garcia, 25
Season: 9, ninth place
Hometown: Moreno Valley, CA

Memorable for: Tattoos, including one of his wife’s red lips, and for peaking way too early and struggling the rest of the way.

Where he is now: Working on an album.

crushable
Diana DeGarmo, 23
Season: 3, runner up
Hometown: Snellville, GA

Memorable for: Coming in second to Fantasia Barrino by only 2% of the votes. Talk about your slim margins.

Where she is now: Broadway, baby! Well, she was, until last summer, when Hair closed. Now she’s doing musical theater in her adopted hometown of Nashville.
american idol

Jessica Sierra, 25
Season: 4, tenth place
Hometown: Tampa, FL

Memorable for: Being a hot mess post-Idol. Sierra starred in a sex tape and was arrested after a bar fight. Then she was busted for cocaine possession and went into rehab for drugs and alcohol. Her struggles were featured on Celebrity Rehab. She also had a stalker.

Where she is now: Now clean and sober, prepping her comeback album and has a two-year-old daughter.

zimbio
Syesha Mercado, 24
Season: 7, third place
Hometown: Sarasota, FL

Memorable for: That goosebump-inducing moment when the half Puerto Rican diva sang Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing. We’re still reeling.

Where she is now: She was part of the cast of Dreamgirls national tour; she also attends college at Florida International University.
American idol
R.J. Helton, 29
Season: 1, fifth place
Hometown: Pasadena, CA

Memorable for: Being the Latino to get the farthest in the inaugural season of the show, and coming out as gay in 2006, leaving a Christian music career behind.

Where he is now: Working on music.
