American Idol: Season 10: Winner Is 17 Years Old "Scotty McCreery"

 American Idol season 10,2011 winner is Scotty Mccreery so Interestingly, a few hours before the result was officially unveiled, the Drudge Report had correctly mentioned Scotty as the winner. The post leaked that the 17-year-old guy would beat Lauren almost two-to-one.

McCreery is from Garner, N.C. The other finalist, Lauren Alaina, 16, is from Rossville, Ga. It's the first time that the finals have come down to two singers both rooted squarely in the country genre. It's the second time, after Jordin Sparks, that a 17-year-old has won



According to mtv.com The support for eventual winner Scotty McCreery was especially apparent in the house. Following the final surprise performance of the night, from judge Steven Tyler, a row of Scotty fans stood with their heads in their hands for the entire commercial break leading up to the results. They didn't come up for air till their boy was announced season 10 Idol, and they erupted in cheers.
