Dance away your weight

Many people love dancing, either as a way of having fun or releasing stress and tension. Some even form dance clubs for the weekends or evenings while others love it to the point that they take it up as a profession.

However, for those who rarely dance, jumping for an opportunity to shake a leg may leave you sore the following day, and it is for a good reason.

Dancing engages all the muscles and the body has to use a lot of energy to enable you to keep moving. This means the body has to burn fats to provide energy.

Some physical trainers have adopted dancing as a way of losing weight and have come up with workout routines such as zumba and aerobics. Most of these routines take up elements of dance, but include a little resistance to make them more effective.

One can also create a dance and exercise routine and do it in the comfort of their home. It is easy and interesting and you can rarely get bored.

Choose your favourite danceable music to ensure you are always motivated. Vary your routines from time to time to prevent your body from getting used to one routine, rendering the exercise redundant.

Also, ensure you add a little swing and punch to your moves because mild dance moves may not be effective. Among the dance styles that can be used as forms of exercise include salsa, a little bit of hip-hop and reggae.

If you do not know some of these moves, enrol in dance lessons. As long as you have the rhythm, learning a new style may not be hard.

If you find it hard doing it alone, find a group of friends who may be interested and dance for an hour every day. Since it is a pleasurable activity, you will not feel like it’s a torture session. Instead, you will look forward to it.

If you love dancing, it’s time you took advantage of it for the benefit of your body and your year health. Lose weight as you have fun and boogie.
