"What can I tell you? It's like any other scene, except where there was a man, now there's a woman. What do you do, really?" del Castillo said, during an interview with Televisa Espectáculos. This isn't the first time del Castillo plays a lesbian role, as fans of hers remember her character Teresa Mendoza in the hugely popular Spanish soap 'La Reina del Sur.'
Longoria found the experience of playing a role alongside del Castillo incredible, she said. Longoria plays a woman who is left in charge of a small town in Latin America after all the men in the town are drafted into a guerrilla group.
"In the film Kate's and my character fall in love. These were very special scenes for me because I got the chance to work with such an incredible actress, whom I'd wanted to work with," Longoria said.
Del Castillo also fielded questions about her marriage to actor Aaron Diaz, which is rumored to be in the rocks. Del Castillo denied emphatically that she is separated from her husband.
"No, no it's not true. When we have something to say about it, we will. ..."
Longoria also dodged questions about her involvement with Penelope Cruz's little brother, Eduardo, saying, "Life is better right now without men. Right now I don't need a man in my life."
