"Dancing With the Stars" Season 12 winner Hines Ward has barely gotten his mirror ball trophy home and into his trophy case and already it's time to start speculating on who will compete on the show when it returns this fall for Season 13.
So who is (and isn't!) headed to the "Dancing With the Stars" dance floor? Let the rumors begin!
Maksim Chmerkovskiy. After coming this close to winning "DWTS" Season 12 with partner Kirstie Alley (he and Alley came in second place to Hines Ward and Kym Johnson), the Ukranian pro dancer may be ready to take a breather. While he hasn't officially said he's not returning to the show, his disappointment with last season's near miss was apparent. Maks even told Access Hollywood, "I'm taking this time off to do things that I love and that make me happy... 'Dancing with the Stars' certainly made all this possible... I'm not saying that I don't enjoy being there, but it's been 10 seasons, I need to figure out what's good for me."
Regis Philbin. The Live With Regis and Kelly" star recently confirmed that he was approached to be a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars." Co-host Kelly Ripa even quipped that she'd pay to see him in spandex. Philbin's pro partner of choice? Derek Hough! But even though Reege is retiring from his long running talk show this summer, don't hold your breath waiting for him to appear on "DWTS." He also said the training would be too much for him. Come on, Reege-- Cloris and Buzz did it!
Melissa Gilbert. The former "Little House on the Prairie" star and Screen Actor's Guild prez has been doing some Twitter talk about "DWTS." While she first tweeted that reports of her being asked to be on the show were "highly exaggerated," she later posted , " I assure you, they are not casting yet and no one has called me. That said, if they did, I'd answer the phone." Sounds like Half Pint is in if they ask her!
Mike Tyson. The heavyweight champ has already appeared on two international versions of the show, dancing the night'"and a few pounds'"away on Italy's version of "DWTS", "Ballando con le Stelle." Tyson also shook his booty on the Argentine dance competition, "Bailando 2011." So why not bring his dancing shoes back to the USA? John Travolta, watch out!
Mark Ballas. The "DWTS" pro dancer appears to be on board for Season 13, recently telling PopEater that he'd be totally cool with being paired with a male dance partner. But Ballas' dream partner of choice is actually Royal sis, Pippa Middleton. Now that would be a royal matchup!
