Jennifer Lopez Sells The Bronx Out in New Fiat Commercial

On Sunday evening, Jennifer Lopez raised some eyebrows with her performance at the American Music Awards—not because of her spangled nude catsuit, but because of the insanely obvious product placement. She drove out in a Fiat.

Now Lopez's minute-long commercial for Fiat is causing some eyerolls. The ad plays up the performer's ties to the Bronx, depicting her smiling fondly at her old neighborhood on a leisurely Fiat drive with voiceover admissions like, "Here, this is my world. This place inspires me."

But it turns out that Lopez didn't actually return to the source of her inspiration: She filmed all her scenes on a Los Angeles set. Fiat explained, "In today's world, people are increasingly mobile and their work takes them to a variety of locations As a result, we took the opportunity to film wherever Ms. Lopez was working at the time to accomodate her schedule."

Hilarious irony aside, the whole campaign is most laughable because everyone knows Jennifer only drives custom Bentleys. Rather, her personal assistants only drive her around in custom Bentleys.
