The REAL Reason Enrique Iglesias Pulled Out of Britney Spears' Tour

Last month, Britney Spears visited Good Morning America and announced that she would be touring with Enrique Iglesias over the summer. But just hours after Brit made the announcement, Enrique pulled out, and later that day, a rep for Iglesias confirmed the story to Latina.com: "Unfortunately, Enrique Iglesias and Britney Spears will not be touring together. Despite initial reports based on formal discussions of the possible run, Enrique will continue on his solo tour in support of his new album EUPHORIA. Enrique has great respect for Britney and is a longtime fan of her work.  He is very sorry for the confusion this might caused to anyone," said the rep.

At the time, multiple sources told TMZ that Enrique dropped out of the tour because his ego couldn’t handle being Spears’ opening act. Reportedly, lawyers and agents for both artists spent weeks drawing up an agreement that called for Enrique to appear as a co-headliner. At first both sides agreed to the deal, which led to an announcement being made Tuesday, but just hours before Britney's camp went public, Enrique said he wasn't comfortable being Britney's opening act and said he wanted out.

Now, OK! Magazine is reporting that Britney's crazy demands were actually the thing that kept Enrique from joining her on tour. “His team took one look at her ‘rules’ and said, ‘If she’s this demanding, he should not be going on tour,'" a source tells the magazine. The source also reveals Enrique refused even after Britney's camp offered him extra money. Another source tells the magazine: “Enrique is a huge fan of Britney’s and would have loved to have worked with her but this wasn’t the right fit."

Britney's rep denied the allegations.

American Idol - American Idol Stunned As Favourite Is Eliminated

American Idol contestant Pia Toscano was eliminated from the competition last night, despite being heavily tipped to become this year's American Idol champion, reports Abc News.

As host Ryan Seacrest announced Toscano's name, the 'Idol' audience shouted "no!" and the judges looked stunned. Steven Tyler told the American viewers that their "lack of passion was unforgivable" while Jennifer Lopez appeared to be on the verge of tears. The 41-year-old R&B star said that she was angry and speechless and Randy Jackson echoed the comments. Despite the furore, Toscano accepted the decision but became teary when talking about how her deceased grandfather had inspired her 'final song'. The 22-year-old proceeded to sing 'Stand By You' and received a stand ovation from the live studio audience. Before her departure, the New Yorker had been compared to the likes of Whitney Houston and Celine Dion. She received unanimous praise for her rendition of Tina Turner's 'River Deep, Mountain High' on Tuesday's show and was assumed to be safe from elimination.

The shock elimination now leaves the door open for contestants such as Casey Abrams and Paul Mcdonald to take this year's American Idol crown.
